This feature was originally published on the Nothin But Hits website,

a music blog sharing the latest song releases by a range of artists.

The stunning Jess Connelly celebrates another year of accomplishments with the release of a refreshing original titled Radar/2AM. For this track, she collaborates with Allan of LustBass who delivers a smooth jazz-type orchestration. Over the course of a year, the pair recorded the song in two parts. With the help of Inez Moro, who photographed the cover art pictured above, these artists were able to work out of a makeshift recording studio in Inez’s guest bedroom.

The entire creative process proves to be worthwhile as they share with the Nothin But Hits team what they enjoyed most about this production. The songstress reveals, “I enjoyed seeing the two parts come together, and mixing my flavor with LustBass’s sound. I just want people to vibe out when they listen to it and hopefully put them in a feel good mood.”

Alternatively, Allan tells us that his favorite part was the creation of the second portion of the song. He adds, “Exactly a year after our first recording session, we met up again and created something new on the spot. It was more honest musically, and gave the song another dimension. We liked it so much that we just had to release it days later for Jess’s birthday.”

As a fan of their sound, I genuinely appreciate the time and patience put into this number - but hearing the story behind the piece makes me love it even more. Hats off to Jess and LustBass for a beautiful finished product that anyone can vibe to!
